The Fédération des écoles techniques (FET) origins are lost in the mists of time.   The exact foundation date has disappeared from memory. Its probable origin was an informal association that became increasingly structured in order to manage a growing number of publications in a more professional fashion. This previous association combined la « Fédération des écoles techniques » which promoted exchanges between schools and « du Fonds de la fédération des écoles techniques », which was affiliated to the Fédération. The latter managed publication of teaching manuels.

A. Guex, Director of l'Ecole de mécanique du Locle, is President.

1972

Ratification of what probably constituted the first statutes of the Fondation du fonds d’édition de la Fédération des écoles techniques. Jacques-André Roulet, Director of l’Ecole technique de la Vallée-de-Joux took over the role of President of the foundation. La Fédération des écoles techniques continues its parallel existance.

Publication of « Matériaux » by A. Remy, M. Gay and R. Gonthier.

Publication of « Cours d'électronique générale » by J.-P. Jeanneret.

1983

Jean-Louis Lucchetta becomes President of Publishing for la Fédération des écoles techniques.

1990

Robert Besançon, Director of l'Ecole technique des métiers de Lausanne, becomes President.

1994

Publication of the th edition (abridged) of « Matériaux » by A. Remy, M. Gay and R. Gonthier.

1996

Publication of « Electrotechnique » by Marc Kaiser, Bernard Chardonnens, Marcel Haenni, André Imstepf, René Maurer and Michel Scheffel.

1998

Publication of « Théorie d'horlogerie » by Charles-André Reymondin, Georges Monnier, Didier Jeanneret and Umberto Pelaratti.

Publication of « Theory of Horology » by Charles-André Reymondin, Georges Monnier, Didier Jeanneret and Umberto Pelaratti. Translation by Rosamund Bandi-Tebbutt and Derek Pratt.

Georges Vial, Director of l’Ecole des métiers de Fribourg (EMF), becomes President.

2001

Publication of «Theorie der Uhrmacherei » by Charles-André Reymondin, Georges Monnier, Didier Jeanneret and Umberto Pelaratti. Translation by Zeitzentrum de Granges.

2004

The affiliation between « du Fonds d’édition de la Fédération des écoles techniques » and « la Fédération des écoles techniques » comes to an end. « La Fédération des écoles techniques » is dissolved, leaving only the « Fonds de la fédération des écoles techniques » in place.

2005

A new collection of reference manuels on materials is launched. Two new volumes are born, one on basics« Les Matériaux dans la technique,» and one specific to electrotechnology, « Les matériaux de l'électrotechnique et de l'électronique ».

2007

Publication of the study «Coûts et bénéfices de la formation professionnelle : plaidoyer pour une optique plus large d'appréciation » (« Nutzen und Kosten der Berufsausbildung : Plädoyer für eine erweiterte Optik ») by Hans-Rudolf Schulz.

2008

Paul-André Hartmann, Director of l’Ecole technique du CIFOM (Centre interrégional de formation des Montagnes neuchâteloises) in Le Locle becomes President.

2010

Publication of the Italian translation of « Théorie d’horlogerie » by Charles-André Reymondin, Georges Monnier, Didier Jeanneret and Umberto Pelaratti. Translation by Arcangelo Lisanti. A launching ceremony is organized at The Hotel Dante in Lugano.

2012

Publication of a revised version of the book « Electrotechnique – Fascicule 1 » by Marc Kaiser, Bernard Chardonnens, Marcel Haenni, André Imstepf, René Mauer, Michel Scheffel, Serge Pittet, Frédéric Loup, Gérald Hugenin and Jean-François Pochon.

2012

Publication of a revised version of the book « Electrotechnique – Fascicule 2 » par Marc Kaiser, Bernard Chardonnens, Marcel Haenni, André Imstepf, René Mauer, Michel Scheffel, Serge Pittet, Frédéric Loup and Jean-François Pochon.
